There's Something About Florence Welch

I've known Florence + The Machine for awhile but never, in the past, did I bother to watch any videos of them. I was just contented in listening to "Dog Days Are Over" and "Shake It Out". Then, I discovered "Breath Of Life" and wondered how can she perform this live? So I watched a video of Florence + The Machine performing Breath Of Life live. I wasn't disappointed, it was better than the album version. With Florence Welch's energy and passion in singing. You could just feel her.

So, I guess you guys are wondering why I put this post in the LGBT blog. Actually, I started to like FATM more. I searched videos, songs and pictures. Then I thought, "Why do I keep on focusing in Florence Welch?" Her elegance, her amazing voice, her laugh, her humor and I even read her Bio. Am I attracted to her? No. Attracted is not the word. I am drawn to her. There's something about her that pulls me deeper into adoring this passionate artist.

As I was surfing the internet for her pictures, I saw various photos where in she is kissing a girl. First I thought, "Maybe it's a bff thing."  But on the second, third time, I thought, "Is it normal for a straight person to do this?" Sure, there are straight girls who kisses another girl normally. But, I can sense something else about Florence.

As a bi-sexual, we gay people, have this thing... We can sense if another person is gay. It's like a radar that sets off an alarm every time you see a person in the third sex, no matter how hard they try to hide it. I'm not saying that Florence is a lesbian, what I'm trying to say is that, there is something about Florence that I won't even try to bother know if I feel that she is as straight as a ruler.

Then, when I listened to "The Girl With One Eye", my Gay Radar was going wild! And in one interview, she said that, "I'm only a lesbian in Paris. But I'm straight in England!... mostly."

I'm not judging or trying to label anyone. There's just something about this English Beauty that interests me. I can't really point out what it is but somehow, the clues lead me to write this post.

So, what do you guys think?

There is more than meets the eye. She's not the typical girl that every one would call pretty. But she's the lady everyone would agree to call BEAUTIFUL.

  1. Okay you are absolutely not the first one to notice this, in my opinion she just doesn't really care about the gender of the person she loves or kisses or whatever. For the record, Florence didn't write Girl with One Eye herself, it's a cover. But if you look at "Delilah" and every single interaction with Isa 'Machine' Summers, you would definitly call Florence queer as a deer. Also, take one look at the rest of the "Flows", seriously, nearly everyone is queer or still finding out they are.

  2. I think she is bi but in a different sense of the way.I'm a lesbian do i get those vibes from her yes and no.So all i can say is love is love because it doesn't have a gender.

  3. She is a definite ally. But in "Shake it Out" i get major lgbt energy especially near the end. When she was dancing and interacting with men she wore dark clothing and seemed forced and unhappy. Then, at the end when she is with the woman she wears brighter clothes and is happier. Florence is a performer as well, so this might have been a character she played in this mv. Not at all assuming or insinuating anything. Just thought I'd point it out.
